Cosmos Seed Packet
American Meadows Cosmos Seed Packet
Packet Size: 3 1/4" wide x 4 1/2" tall
One packet covers 5 square feet
Cosmo flowers are annuals - they'll sprout and only bloom in the first year, although some will reseed.
Sow seed in early spring directly into the soil where you want your cosmos to grow, or into small pots or modules filled with free-draining seed compost. If growing in pots, pot on seedlings when they are large enough to handle. Plant out in late April/May after the danger of frost has passed.
Space the seed about 5–8cm (2–3in) apart and water well. About three weeks later, the seedlings should have popped up. At that point, you can thin them out to about 30cm (12in) apart. Pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage them to branch and produce more flowers.
Regan’s birthday is October 4th. To celebrate, you may consider planting October’s birth month flower in your garden or landscaping.
The meaning of October's birth month flower
Symbolizing peace, tranquillity and harmony, Cosmos flowers come in all kinds of colors like orange, pink, white, red and purple.
Cosmos originated in Mexico, where Spanish priests cultivated them in their mission gardens. They named the flower as cosmos is the Greek word for order, and the flower’s petals were all evenly placed and in perfect order.
